This one day course is ideal for anyone responsible for the First Aid provision in low hazard environments, and is in line with the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. On completion of the course, you will receive a certificate that is valid for three years from Paramedical First Aid North Derbyshire. This course covers both adult and paediatric First Aid.

This three-day course covers the practical skills required of a first aider in the modern workplace. The course will give you the confidence and knowledge to deal with a wide range of first aid emergencies, in line with Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. On completion of the course, you will receive a certificate that is valid for three years from Paramedical First Aid North Derbyshire. Onsite Special course rate for groups of 10 - 12 people.

This annual refresher course provides an opportunity for staff that have previously attended an Emergency First Aid at Work or First Aid at Work course, to refresh their knowledge and skills during the 3 year qualification period. This course covers both adult and paediatric First Aid.

First Aid at Work – 3 Day (Blended) This three-day course covers the practical skills required of a first aider in the modern workplace. The course will give you the confidence and knowledge to deal with a wide range of first aid emergencies, in line with Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. The First Aid at Work course is run over 2 days as well as 1 day online and includes both theory and practical sessions. the online part is started 4 weeks prior to the face to face sessions but means you only have to release staff for 2 days and the eLearning part can be done at your staffs leisure but has to be completed 48 hours prior to the face to face part starting. NEW Haemostatic Dressings and Tourniquets: This session involves specific in-depth training, and is taught on request only as per individual workplace requirements. Due to the increase in training equipment, the standard price will increase by £25.00 PP + VAT What will you learn? Once you have completed the course, you will be able to: Recognise the Roles & Responsibilities of a first aider Assess the situation and complete a scene assessment Deal with a casualty who is unconscious and breathing- Includes Adult, Child and Baby Deal with a casualty who is unconscious and not breathing (CPR)- Includes Adult, Child and Baby. Complete a Secondary survey Deal with a casualty who is choking Deal with a casualty who is wounded and bleeding Recognise shock Treat minor injuries Respiratory system Recognise hypoxia Cardiovascular system Recognise major illness including: Heart attack Angina Stroke Seizures Asthma Diabetes Anaphylaxis Meningitis Sepsis Sickle cell Extremes of heat and cold Administer first aid to a casualty with: Fractures, Dislocations, Sprains & Strains Crush injury Eye injuries Burns and scalds Chest injuries Head & Spinal Injury Poisoning Safe Use of the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Course Duration 3 days (2 face to face 1 Online). First Aid at Work Requalification 2 Day This two day requalification course (one day online one day face to face) is designed to refresh the first aiders’ knowledge and skills, and provides updates in first aid procedures from the First Aid at Work syllabus. To qualify to do the First aid at Work in just 2 days a valid First Aid at Work certificate must be held, Paramedical first aid north Derbyshire will have to see sight of the certificate (by email) prior to the course starting. Time scales apply for requalification so please contact us to discuss details. This option is ideal to reduce the amount of time you release staff for the face to face part of the training. The online part can be done at the learners leisure starting 4 weeks prior to the face to face part of the course but has to completed 48 hours prior to the face to face part.
