This annual refresher course provides an opportunity for staff that have previously attended an Emergency First Aid at Work or First Aid at Work course, to refresh their knowledge and skills during the 3 year qualification period. This course covers both adult and paediatric First Aid.

As a practising GP or Dentist you must demonstrate appropriate continuing professional development (CPD), to keep up to date for each part of your scope of practice. We provide a wide range of high quality courses and events to support your continuing professional development. Choose either a 2 or 3 hour session which allows clinicians earn required CPD hours and to keep up to date with the latest evidence and new guidelines. All our training is delivered by serving NHS Paramedics, Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and retired frontline staff. Sessions can cover topics of your choice, or our standard BLS session which covers Safe Use of the AED, and Anaphylaxis for Gp's or for Dental practices we also cover emergency medical drugs. Sessions can also be tailored for practice support staff. Please email or call us for more details and to discuss your needs. Depending on the size of your group and the space available will determine if we need one or two instructors. We are happy to tailor your course to your requirements. Certificates are issued by Paramedical First Aid North Derbyshire and are valid for 1 year with appropriate CPD hours on the certificate.

Entonox is a pain killing gas, and can be administered by appropriately trained personnel in a first aid setting. This course is suitable for people aged 18+, and will give you the training to enable you to administer Entonox safely and effectively. Specifically designed for qualified first aiders and emergency first aiders, this 1-2 hour course can be combined with a Basic Life Support (BLS) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) qualification to make a full 1 day course.

Blended Learning combines traditional face-to-face training/assessment with remote training or e-Learning. With part of the course delivered online, usually the theory. Practical elements of the qualifications then being covered in the classroom. For example, a First Aid at Work course can be split into two sections, with 1/3 delivered online: • Day one: covering theory outside of the classroom, via e-Learning. • Day two & three: classroom based delivery focussing on practical skills. First Aid at Work Requalification consists of (6 hours) online e-learning and 1 day (6 hours) in the classroom, The e-learning course must be completed in its totality before learners are eligible to attend training days in the classroom.
